Garden umbrellas are also known as picnic umbrellas. These are meant for the outdoors. Apart from the large ones that need to be placed at a particular spot, even parasols are considered to be a part of this category of umbrellas. So to speak, these are umbrellas meant for the outdoors.

However, those meant for the garden have brighter and more vibrant prints than otherwise. This is because it is placed in the midst of nature where people spend time relaxing or children pass their time playing. So these umbrellas could also be termed as young umbrellas.

Though it would be handy at public parks and gardens, they are not put up in such places because in the difficulty of maintaining them. Once they are placed nobody generally takes the responsibility to wash them and clean the stands. Years would go by and they begin to look like skeletal remains of years gone by. And so it is used only for private gardens.

The gardens maintained at clubhouses, hotels, restaurants and resorts have garden umbrellas placed at table in the park or garden. They usually serve snacks and beverages in such spots of their premises while parents look after their children playing the green surrounding.

Some schools, universities and companies have umbrellas meant for the garden placed at strategic locations so one could rest in the midst of nature in between grueling and stressful sessions. In fact a few companies encourage their employees to eat their lunch in the gardens so that they feel refreshed to work in the latter half of the day.
